Our Abri Employment Services can help you into employment or secure a better job, give you the confidence and skills to find a job, explore opportunities or take that next step on the career ladder. 

Not everyone is born with the same opportunities. But we can help level the playing field. We believe it doesn’t matter where you’re from, it’s about where you’re going, and we’ve got a whole team to help people get there. 

How do we do this? 

We’ve already helped 2,000+ people. But before 2025, we’re going to help at least 2,500 more by: 

  • Working with local employers 

  • Encouraging people to work in our sector, there’s loads of jobs for people with all interests and skills 

  • Working with schools, colleges and universities to create training, job and apprenticeship opportunities 

You can come meet our employment services in your community. The team are in Chard, Clewer and Dedworth, Whitehill and Bordon, Wincanton and Yeovil. We offer a range of support including:

  • How to find and apply for a job 

  • How to prepare for interviews 

  • Information about self-employment 

  • How to get back into work after a break 

  • How to access training or apprenticeships

  • Access to employment opportunities and employer workshops 

  • Career guidance 

Even when you’ve found a job, we can stay in touch to help you develop further and provide more advice or support.

I’m thinking of doing an apprenticeship, can you help me? 

We have a growing number of apprenticeship opportunities available across the organisation. You can gain job-specific skills and qualifications with the support of experienced staff.  

Apprenticeships are a great option if you want to learn while working in paid employment. As an apprentice, you’ll be paid the national minimum wage and receive the perks of being an employee, like an annual holiday entitlement. You’ll also get time to study during your working week.  

Apprenticeship vacancies are advertised on our website. Different entry requirements apply depending on the role.

Can you help me access volunteering opportunities? 

Voluntary work is a fantastic opportunity to gain a reference and discover more about yourself and what you find enjoyable. It’s also a great way to ease into a new routine and get new skills for your CV while giving back to the community. 

Voluntary work can be particularly beneficial for people looking to build confidence or manage certain health conditions. It’s also a great stepping stone to paid work. 

Volunteering can help you to:  

  • Boost your CV with real work / life experience  

  • Gain valuable transferable skills like interpersonal communication, teamwork, time management, organisation and decision-making  

  • Build your confidence  

  • Explore different areas of work  

  • Expand your network of contacts 

There are volunteering opportunities in almost every sector, including:
