Amanda, a long-time volunteer at our Roundabout Café, approached our Employment Services when she was struggling with her mental health and confidence. She tells us about the help and support she received that led to her securing a job.

“When I reached out to Abri’s Employment Services, I was unemployed and struggling in social situations. I volunteered at the Roundabout Café which was brilliant for my mental health and confidence. I met a lot of new people and learnt a lot of new skills.

“Ian (Employment Coach) helped me update and categorise my CV and gave me new ways to search for jobs. He also helped me realise that I have the qualifications and personality to find a good job that can fit in with my home life and needs. I have now gone back into early years as a level 3 early years educator.

“Ian was brilliant, very approachable and went out of his way to be available at my convenience. He also helped my daughter with her CV, confidence, and social skills as she can be very timid in new situations. After his help, she’s now in employment as well.

“Abri’s Employment Services has helped me on many levels: financially, personally and professionally. They helped me regain my social skills and the confidence to be in a new environment.”
