We know how important it is to connect with people. That’s why we want to let you know about some free activities taking place in the Mansbridge area.

Food safety and hygiene course
Would you like to learn something new? Are you looking for a job in catering? Come and join this free weekend course to gain a Level 2 qualification that will allow you to prepare food in a catering role. 

When: Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 January
Time: 10.30am-4pm
Where: Round About Cafe, SO18 2LE

Digital skills course
Are you worried about staying safe online? Want to be able to video call people but not sure? Want to start online shopping? Our free six-week digital skills improvement course could be just what you need.

When: Wednesdays, 10, 17, 24, 31 January, 7, 14 February
Time: 3-5pm
Where: Round About Café, SO18 2LE

BitSmart’s Tech drop in
Are you having trouble with your phone, tablet or laptop? Bring it along to our monthly drop in and have a chat with Tony our tech expert from BitSmart. He may be able to solve your problem or point you in the right direction.

When: the third Friday of the month, starting January 19
Time: 10am-12pm

Community action event
Come and find out about mental health and wellbeing support, financial guidance, and support from information services. Speak to Abri colleagues about housing, welfare benefits and employment. Save money on utility bills by talking to Utilita and the Environment Centre. Free children’s activities. Plus, the Bike Doctor will be there to carry out free and low-cost bike repairs.

When: Tuesday 13 February

Employment and Opportunities Hub
Are you looking for a new job, new career, housing advice, or to find out what’s happening in the area? Then drop in to our monthly Employment and Opportunities Hub and chat with our friendly advisors who can help you search and apply for jobs, discuss any housing issues, as well as connect you with groups and activities happening in the area. 

When: the first Friday of every month
Time: 9-11am

Mansbridge Melody Makers
We are hosting free music sessions that will help you find your voice and express yourself through music. All abilities are welcome, whether you're already a confident singer or are looking to get started. It's a great way to meet new people and try something new!

When: every Monday
Time: 6-7.30pm

Children’s clothes and school uniform clothes swap, plus clothing alterations
If you have clothes you don't wear anymore and there's nothing wrong with them, bring them along and choose something you will wear. 
 

  • Bring up to 10 items 
  • Please make sure items are clean and in good condition
  • Lay your items on a table or hang them up
  • Take a look through the other clothes and take up to 10 items
  • Please do not drop any clothes off at the cafe before the event, bring them with you on the day
  • All clothing welcome including school uniform and children’s clothes

While you’re here, visit our expert repair and alteration service and save money by preserving the life of your clothes. You will also be helping to reduce textile waste and your carbon footprint. One item per person please.

Electrical repair cafe
A repair café is a place where people can bring broken items to be fixed for free by expert repairers at the same time as having a cuppa and some cake.
If you have a broken electrical item, book a slot for it to be fixed. If it can’t be fixed on the day, the volunteers can give you advice about what to do next. 
Booking is essential as we need to know some information about the item you are bringing along. 

When: Saturdays, 13 January 2024 and 9 March 
Time: 2-4pm

Community orchard and biodiversity site
We have a beautiful space that is open for all the community to enjoy. There are five fruit trees, a bench, mud kitchen, blackboard, pond, bug hotels, bird boxes and a picnic bench. 

When: Every day
